Today I downloaded lesson 4 of the online Bible study. Want to know what it means to “Give it to God” and “Take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5)? Are you paralyzed by fears or stuck in your growth toward a more personal and intimate relationship with Jesus? Then this study is for you. Here's what you can expect from lesson 4:
God extends forgiveness to us and He commands that we should lengthen that extension of forgiveness to others as well.
In the Bible, to “believe” means to entrust your spiritual well-being to Christ. If I say I believe in Christ then I am saying I will follow His commands. One of those commands is to forgive those who have wronged me. Since this is a command then to do otherwise is to be disobedient to God. Disobedience is rebellion. A rebellious, stubborn heart rejects God just as certainly as someone rejects God by occult practices or idolatry.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.”
1 Samuel 15:23a
Ouch! I certainly don’t want that tagged on to me with everything else that goes on in my life, do you?
