Practical Biblical Principles

“What would you like most in the whole world?” was asked of a famous actor.  Without a moment’s hesitation he replied, “Peace of mind.”

Anxiety is one of the reasons people resort to alcohol and drugs – anything to stop or escape the painful thoughts.  Other people sign up for 12-step classes or other courses that attempt to show them how to deal with the stresses in their life and overcome the worries that keep them from peace and joy.  Seeking pleasure to relieve the pain and suffering is another way some people try to cope.  Christians suffer with over-anxious thoughts and emotions, too.

Philippians 4 teaches us God’s way for the Christian to handle painful thoughts and anxious feelings.  There are spiritual truths in this chapter, that, if put into practice, will bring peace to your life even in the midst of the most devastating trial.
